Enough has been said about Buddhadeb Bhattacharya and the bloody massacre at Nandigram. It indeed was a very lousy incident which truly is unforgivable. However, are we to a certain extent, forgetting the souls who have suffered and the ones who are still suffering? We generally criticise the maniac Buddha and his Red Army and the ideal he betrayed, and we overlook the actual pain the poor people experienced. They work silently, day and night and provide us our daily meals. They are the raindrops, feeding the river called development. I really am shocked to find out that children were butchered mercilessly, legs torn apart. And then, apart from the police force, there were people in uniform but
in slippers who led the attack on the villagers. These dresses, as reported, were supplied by a local tailoring shop. This is our world in the year “2007”.
All this has made me realise that even
God is not perfect. It is evident from the
fact that he is the one who created
human beings!
