BUY I MUST...
Sole Stirring!
It is said that the soul speaks through the purse and the precious. The things one buys and the relationships one cherishes perhaps reveal more about a person than anything one might say or do. TSI chats up with actor Parveen Dabas on his shoe quest and Sonali Kulkarni, of her adoration for mommy dearest.

“They say you can tell about a man by the shoes he wears… sure works for me! I have always had a fetish for shoes of all kinds, shapes and colours. If my shoes could talk, they would say something like “God! You are heavy, and you should seriously consider the diet we have been recommending (winks)”. I know it sounds crazy but my shoes could almost feel insecure with the super-frequent additions to the collection; it implies fewer turns for the ones there, you see! The variety is something I’m proud of – my airy sandals come out on days I’m chilling out (which is almost everyday) but on days I have a meeting with people I have no clue about, I play it safe by wearing those formal ones; of course, once the rapport is struck, the slip-on chappals come out again. I go trekking so often that one of these days those shoes are going to ask me to give them a damn break! They are really overworked; imagine the sole came off in the middle of a trek once (laughs out loud)! There’s much culling and charity – I always have a constant 30 – but my most treasured pair is a gifted white pair of Aldo sandals (my favourite brand). What you walk around in certainly matters; there’s no messing with footwear!
