When Jordi Giro bought a home in the Catalonia region of Spain during a foreclosure auction recently, little did he imagine what the house had in store for him! On making his first visit to his latest acquisition, he met with the most horrendous sight of his lifetime – the mummified body of the former owner of the house, royally sitting on the couch! Scientists estimate that the body had been there since 2001 – the time when she stopped paying her bills and rents. There was no ‘missing’ report filed since the woman lived separately from her children, and the salty seaside air only helped in preventing rot and mummified the body. The most… er, appalling purchase ever?
