Apropos the cover story “India endangered” (30 Apr-6 May), organised crime cannot exist without the support of political bigwigs like Babubhai Katara . It’s shocking that our MPs are more interested in committing crimes. The business of human trafficking exposes the incompetence of the Indian government to tackle the problem of unemployment, thus allowing the touts to sell dreams of raking in moolah in distant lands. It’s about time the government creates employment opportunities in India, to prevent the trafficking of its citizens from the country.
