Selectors to pick team for first test on Nov 5

The Indian contingent for upcoming test series against England will be picked on November 5. The new selection committee under the chairmanship of Sandip Patil will meet at the Cricket Centre, Mumbai to pick the team.

Indian team have to engage in high voltage series at home against English team. The series starts with Ahmedabad Test from 15th Nov. The flop show of opening pair of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir has led to a lot of speculation on the possible changes in the opening slot.

The selection committee will be keenly scrutinized by critics as Indian test team is going through a lot of changes because of retiremet of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman.

Even in bowling department Indian team needs some overhauling as bowling department led by Zaheer Khan looked good in patches only.

The selection of spinners will be a key factor. Harbhajan is still going through a rough phase and Ashwin has already pushed him out of the elite A grade as well.

England will play four test matches and two T-20 matches during the tour. But before the series opener test, visitors will be playing two warm up matches, one against India A and another against Mumabi A team.

Engalnd will again come back to play five one day match series against men in blue in January.
