H e’s making a list / He’s checking it twice / He’s gonna fi nd out / Who’s naughty or nice… Around the time Santa’s supposed to be coming to town, one is probably compelled to be on one’s ‘good’ best, in our own little ways. Like this thief in Berlin: having decamped with $4,000 from a post offi ce on Christmas eve, the robber soon turned penitent enough to call the cops and inform them of the church where he’d stashed away all the booty – all but $1,300. Not bad; by the way, have they started to charge for shriving?
