SAIL Hockey Tournament wins Tata Steel Hockey Tournament

The SAIL Hockey Academy run by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) won the Tata Steel Hockey Tournament by an emphatic 3-0 win over the Central Excellence team of Panposh Sports Hostel at Sundargarh.

Two brilliant goals by Aisam Lakra and another by Micheal Barla of SAIL left the opponent with no chance to recover in the match held yesterday.

In all eight teams from the region participated in the tournament.

The Hockey academy since its inception in 1992, is honing the talent of the youth of this region, for whom hockey is more a way of life than mere game.

Budding talents brought from the remote areas of the tribal district were being imparted scientific training so as to make players of national and international stature.
