The sixth edition of South Asian Film Festival (SAFF) which will showcase 60 movies from the region, would be unveiled from Thursday by Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat.

Bollywood actor Pooja Bhatt will be the special guest for the inaugural function for this four-day festival.

The festival will have participation from countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, State Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava said on Wednesday.

The festival is organised by the South Asia Foundation, a non-profit and non-political organisation.

The festival will be paying tribute to two great filmstars from India and Bangladesh--Hindi cinema veteran Shammi Kapoor, who passed away recently and Bangladeshi filmmaker Tareque Masud, who was recognised by Cannes Film Festival.

SAFF General Secretary Rahul Barua said the fest would kick off with a special screening of 'Kashmir ki Kali' as a mark of respect to celebrated actor late Shammi Kapoor.

"Randhir and Rajeev Kapoor will be present for the inaugural movie," he said adding that Randhir would be honoured for promoting cross country cultural exchange through films.
