Reiterating its stand on several issues, the Congress party on Friday again asked the BJP to wait for their time to come.

On the very day when the BJP was holding is national executive committee meeting in the capital to mull over the present political scene and its strategy, Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhury at a press conference said, “The demand by the opposition for resignation of top leaders doesn’t count. It is people that counts.”

She called it, “mere cheap tactics of a politically bankrupt party. First they should put their own house in order. Sort out who would be their Prime Minister and who all are to be the ministers. And then later think about our ministers.”

Hitting out at the media as well while giving clarification about the popped out 2G note, Chowdhury said, “The JPC and the courts are already seized with it. A statement by the minister has already been made, and the chapter is closed. Why continue to rewind and replay the same thing over and over again.”

She said that all questions put by the JPC will be answered logically at the appropriate time and that there is no anxiety within the party.

Answering a question on the Rupees 32 a day limit for the poor man, Chowdhury explained the inexplicable, saying, “It’s a policy, a calculation to set limits on which we then decide how help the ones beneath the limit and also the others. It’s just an exercise that had been followed by the Planning Commission for a very longtime. There’s nothing to draw much inference from it. It’s an ongoing process where experts come together and exercise their expertise. We have already asked them to keep the scene of 2011 in mind and then calculate. Moreover we have not adopted it. Have we?”
