Sambalpur police in Orissa has claimed to have arrested two miscreants on Friday who managed to abscond after snatching a gold necklace from a lady on Thursday. Police suspected their involvement in few similar incidents occurred in the town recently.
Apart from recovering the stolen gold necklace, police has also seized the motor bike that was used by the culprits to make their operation successful. Police said that the two culprits - Dilip Munda and Sunil Thapa - had a chain of criminal records and they were on court bail after staying inside the local jail for couple of years.
"We have finally arrested the two who kept us on our toes for months together committing such crimes on regular intervals," the Inspector of Ainthapali police station, PK Rout said. He informed that police suspected their involvement in such starching incidents when they found sudden increase in such crimes after their release from judicial custody.
“We did not find a single incident of snatching when they were inside the jail. The snatching incidents occurred only when they come out from the jail," the Rout said.
