As the historic 'Baliyatra' ends, the festive mood of people in Odisha gradually seems to vanish. But the business that was done on the occasion of yatra is something that is still talked about.
During the week-long Baliyatra in Odisha, the state did a massive business of around 40 crore rupees.
While Odisha is being calculated among the backward states of India, a business of 5 crore rupees in a day seems to be an attention-grabber. Apart from any parameter on the poverty, the people of the state are commodity-friendly. The real example of this is 'Baliyatra'.
The Mayor of local Municipality, Soumendra Ghosh, says that with each passing year the business during Baliyatra has been increasing gradually. “It has also given a handsome profit to state exchequer,” he says.
This year Baliyatra had started from November 10. Like the previous years, it had come with a great trade fair, where you can find different variety of products from all over the Country. The Cultural Programs were organised daily by the (Baliyatra Cuttack Utsav).
Thus, with this huge business only in limited time period, we can say the people of Odisha are not contaminated with the poverty. With its cultural heritage, its capability of the people is also worthy.
