Apart from veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare and his team who launched the indefinite fast against corruption at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday, there were few others who grabbed the eyeballs of the people gathered at the fast venue. Some of the Anna supporters present at the fast venue were clearly evident from their odd get up and the things they were carrying.

Anil Pandni who came all the way from Uttarakhand to extend his support to team Anna in their agitation against graft, was in the get up demon Ravana.

Talking to TSI, Anil said, “I have come here in the get up Ravana to show that corruption is like a devil and we all have to stand against it and fight together.”

Unlike Anil, who chose to dress like a devil, Manohar Anand, a Maharastrian like Anna, was donning the Mahatma Gandhi look. Manohar has been propagating the views of Mahatama Gandhi for long. He has sent petitions to Prime Minister and President demanding a strong Lokpal bill, bringing black money and action against MPs and MLAs with disproportionate assets. “I will stay here and fast until every demand of team Anna is met,” said Manohar.

Ram Lakhan Mishra, on the other hand, was noticeable not due to his get up but due to the collage of the news reports and photos of him and Anna Hazare. A 65 year old man from Bihar’s Darbhanga district, Ram Lakhan is a cancer patient, but even his serious ill could not stop him to travel so lond and support Anna. He has seen the days of Bihar's charismatic leader Jaiprakash and has been fighting against corruption at the lower level since then.

“People who were upset with me for blowing lid off the corrupt practices in rural areas have lodged false cases against me. I have 22 cases pending against me. But this can’t stop my fight against corruption,” asserts Ram Lakhan. “I had sent petition for euthanasia to president but it was denied, I would rather die instead of spending rest of my life in jail on false charges,” he added.

Though they have taken the odd ways to get themselves noticed in the midst of the crowed, but at the end what matters is the cause they stand for which is the fight against corruption.
