Obama expectations

 

 

I was surprised by Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri's opinion on demanding Barack Obama as the potential Secretary General of the UN after his eight years as the US President. What a splendid idea to offer the mantle of supreme power for universal peace and equitable development! But, before the heyday comes, Obama has the onus of handling some sensible issues of the world. In fact, he surprised the world as he ascended to the post of President, crossing the racial barrier. Now, everyone expects Obama to put an end to the ethnic battles, the arrogance of the Hamas, the deadlock in Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan and the stubbornness of the countries to go nuclear for the second time. And, if, Obama fails to teach a lesson to the terrorist state Pakistan and instead adopts a liberal policy, it shall tarnish his reputation. Consequently, the Indians shall conclude that behind the promises of the illustrious leaders, sometimes there lies the willful neglect to global terrorism. Of course, we hope that Obama's actions will discard any kind of impartiality for the sake of global peace and prosperity.
