Extending their brutalities to the youths, the naxals abducted a 17-year-old school girl from Gangaloor in Bijapur district and beat her up mercilessly before releasing her on Friday. The girl's only crime was that his brother has joined the state police.
The ultras have also demanded ransom of Rs 15,000 and warned the victim Bhuneshwari Jhadi that she will be kidnapped again if the money was not paid.
"Maoists kidnapped her when she went to school to collect her Transfer Certificate. 10 to 12 armed naxals surrounded her and took her to the jungle," said the Jhadi's father Mahesh Jadi.
The victim Bhuvneshwari said that she was beaten up badly with sticks. The kidnappers weren't happy with her brother joining police force. The ultras also warned her that all her family members would be killed if her brother did not quit the police job.
Meanwhile, the girl student has recognised one of her kidnappers, Tati Munna, a resident of Regadgatta. The Maoists released the injured girl near Old Collectorate after bashing her up.
According to reports, the Maoists have increased their attacks against students and youths have refused to join their ranks.
