Not a front runner in prez polls: Pranab

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday dismissed as speculation reports that he has emerged as a front runner in the race for presidential election.

"It is speculative. I don't want to comment on it," he told reporters on way to Manila where he will be attending the 45th Annual Meeting of Asian Development Bank's Board of Governors.

Media on Friday carried reports that he has emerged as a front runner as ruling combination's candidate in the presidential election.

The Congress has begun discussing its potential candidates with its partners in the UPA coalition. It is keen on fielding either Mr Ansari or Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
