North to the Future A land replete with options ranging from whale watching to glacier gazing (there are at least 616 officially named glaciers), exploring historical towns and gold mines... If you are counting ways to a fun filled Alaskan fest, chances are that you’ll need more than just fingers, for there is so much on offer and most of it is good to mesmerize the senses!

While variegated opportunities in sightseeing are routine, the multifarious cultural experiences and the pure adventure in the Alaskan wilderness drums up magic that is none other than captivating. One will find adventure in insatiable measure, from the mild to the wild. For those used to urban living, but daydreaming of the woods, the expansive grandeur of Alaska does not cease to amaze one as one marvels at the sight of a grizzly or a kayak gliding past glaciers shedding icebergs the size of cars!

Anchorage is where it’s not a rarity to have a black bear stroll up and join you for coffee; and here the sun never sets for 20 hours at a stretch! One can go to Juneau, if your flight isn’t one among the 200 odd that get cancelled owing to inclement weather each year. Once there, you’ll know why it’s called ‘little San Francisco’. There is the Admiralty Island National Monument, a 3641 sq km of wilderness, where one finds eagles, whales, bears, seals and sea lions, et al. Twice the size of Texas, this last frontier of America is an experience to die for, but living it at least once is highly recommended.
