Neglected sports of India

 

 

Hockey, one of the most neglected sports of India, has always suffered from paucity of funds. Players who once represented the country now live in penury. India’s loss to Britain in the Olympic hockey qualifiers in indeed disgraceful. India failed to qualify for the Olympics in hockey for the first time in eighty years. The blame game that started as soon as the team lost is an even bigger disgrace. The day we start treating every sport equally in India, the performances of the players, whether in hockey, football or golf, is bound to improve.
