Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily on Monday said the failure to get justice breeds tendencies like militancy and Naxalism.
"It is because people are not getting justice that there is Naxalism and militancy in the country," he said.
The Minister was addressing a gathering after inauguration of an International Arbitration Centre here. Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and former Union Minister Ramakant Khalap were also present on the occasion.
Moily said only 4 per cent people in India solve their issues and disputes with judicial mechanism. "This is because the rest find going to the court an expensive and time consuming affair."
The Minister said the efforts are made to ensure speedy justice for the litigants. The UPA Government aims to have a set up where all cases are disposed within three years of filing.
Like London and Singapore, India will become the next hub for international arbitration, Moily said.
