Medium sugar ends mixed in thin trade

Medium sugar prices showed a mixed patten of trading at the Vashi wholesale market due to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar variety finished stable in the absence of worthwhile buying activity. Medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 2,751/2,886 as compared to Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,776/2,881. 

The following are Thursday's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets: Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,751/2,886 (Rs 2,776/ 2,881). Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,720/2,761 (Rs 2,720/ 2,761).
