Mamata to meet Irom Sharmila after rally

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet Irom Sharmila Chanu, protesting for removal of Armed forces Special Powers Act (AFSPS), after addressing an election rally near Tulihal airport in Manipur, say sources.
Trinamool Congress has fielded 48 candidates for the 60 assembly seats in Manipur. TMC has promised the people of Manipur removal of draconian AFSPA if the party comes to power.
Union Minister Mukul Roy has said, “People in Manipur are fed up with AFSPA. If necessary, our MPs will raise the issue in the Parliament.”
Sources in Imphal informed TSI that Mamata is likely to meet Irom Sharmila Chanu at the hospital where she is lodged.
