The Kerala government is planning to introduce a system to sell life saving medicines at a low price. The state cabinet on Tuesday discussed the issue and decided to convene a meeting of pharmaceutical companies and do the possible maximum at the earliest, Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, said.
Chandy assured that government will do maximum in this case. He said, “the price of medicines has doubled and the life saving medicines too are not affordable for common people. At any cost the widely used medicines will be made available at cheaper price.”
The government will implement new law if needed for this but, he said, the existing laws are enough to bring the companies to follow the government stands.
