Kerala to host international film festival

A six-day international film festival will be held at Mavelikkara under the auspices of the capital-based Soorya film society from September 23.
  
Named Soorya Mavelikkara International Film Festival (SMIFF), the festival would screen around 25 films, society Secretary Soorya Krishnamurthy told reporters.
  
"State Minister for Forests and Cinema K B Ganesh Kumar would inaugurate the event at the Sree Krishna Gana Sabha hall at Mavelikkara in Allapuzha," he said.
  
Films from Columbia, Chile, Iran, Egypt, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Iraq and Tajikistan would be screened at the festival.
