Chhattisgarh Congress has alleged that the state government had allocated a coal block to BJP leader Dr. Nina Singh’s company Navbharat Explosive, which is cash strapped company and did not meet the minimum requirements to be allocated a coal block.

On the other hand, The Sunday Indian has learned that Nina's son-in-law, Vijayendra Singh is the Secretary of Mineral Department who helped her company to clinch the coal block.

Accusing the state government of misleading the central committee constituted to allocate coal blocks, Congress has alleged that favourable recommendations were made to allocate the coal blocks to those companies which did not qualify for the allocation. These companies do not have operational units in the state and are running on papers only.
PCC president Nandkumar Patel and Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey said the CAG report has exposed the double standards of the Raman Singh government.

According to the sources in state Minerals department, BJP leader Dr. Nina's son in law, Vijayendra Singh is the Secretary of Mineral Department, who helped her in getting the coal block.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that the Congress is merely citing the first paragraph of the letter which was sent to the central government. However, if they read the entire letter, they will find that the main culprit is the central government.
