IAC gets permission to hold meeting in Farrukhabad

The district administration in Farrukhabad on Saturday gave permission to India Against Corruption (IAC) to hold a public meeting at Awas Vikas Park on November 1.

Earlier, the district administration gave a run-around to IAC over the matter. On Wednesday, they allowed the IAC to hold demonstration at Awas Vikas Park, however, again on Friday they withdrew the permission and barred IAC to hold any demonstration.

Fumed over the administration's decision to cancel the order, senior IAC member Sanjay Singh sent a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, expressing displeasure over the decision and seeking his intervention into the matter.

Moreover, seeking the permission for the public meeting, several IAC member held demonstration in-front of Farrukhabad District Magistrate's house on Saturday.

Top IAC leader Arvind Kejriwal had announced to hold public meeting at Farrukhabad, after he accused that Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid and his wife Louise Khurshid of corruption.

In the backdrop of Kejriwal's accusations against Khurshid's Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust and his announcement to hold public meeting in Farrukhabad, Salman Khurshid had allegedly dared Kejriwal to visit Farrukhabad.
