The London Games archery competition is being held right in front of the famous Lord’s Pavilion and its famous Long Room. Within metres of the famous balcony from where Kapil’s Devils proudly held the Prudential World Cup aloft in 1983, India’s archery fortunes at St John’s Wood has been rather disastrous.
Laishram Bombayla Devi ran out of luck in the women’s individual competition after making a winning Round 1 and hoped her teammates will learn from the mistakes she did on Monday.
“I don’t mind being the guinea-pig of our archery team. The wind was difficult to handle and I think some of my teammates saw that from the stands. The atmosphere and the rules are also new to us and Olympics is very different from other international events,” Bombayla said in an exclusive chat.
