Madhya Pradesh government will establish an institute of public administration to honour veteran BJP leader and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, official sources said.
The decision to set up 'Atal Bihari Vajpaiyee Institute of Public Administration' was taken by the state Cabinet in its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday, they said.
Accordingly, a new society would be registered in the name of 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee Lok Prashasan Sansthan' and a Governing Body and an Executive would be constituted, the sources added.
The governing body would be headed by chief minister and its member would comprise of state ministers and principal secretaries of various departments, while the executive represented by chief secretary as its chief and the principal secretaries concerned as members.
Besides, the executive will also comprise of two government nominated non-official members.
The Cabinet also decided to dissolve the committee on 'The School of Good Governance' and its assets and liabilities would be vested with the proposed institute.
The institute would adopt functioning of the governing body and executive of the 'School of Good Governance', and subsequently amend and change it as per its requirement.
It would come up with divisions for different sectors, which would be called as "schools", the sources added.
The 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee Lok Prashasan Sansthan' would function as a think thank for matters related to public administration in local and global perspective. It would also analyse the policies of the government and assess their impact on the target groups.
