Haute clubs and the hottest beaches, this island’s got it all! Eivissa or Ibiza, call
it what you will, is the island where the party (some world famous ones like
‘Espuma’- Spanish for foam party at Amnesia, one of the best club in Ibiza);
never stops until the sun heralds the dawn, and when it does its time to prepare
for another one. Needless to say it’s a den like no
other for the party animal, and the wilder the better!
Yet there is more to Ibiza than the summer party paradise
that it is. Th e most popular of the Balearic islands,
Ibiza is also now increasingly catering to both
young and the not so young (but young at heart nonetheless);
with clubs, aqua parks, cuisines and tranquil
beaches and coves. Considerable sections of the
island are registered UN World Heritage
Sites that open a window
to the much understated
heritage and cultural
beauty of the island.
Stunning beaches and
exhilarating nightlife
apart, you’ll be surprised
by the beautiful Ibiza countryside.
Experience typical Ibiza
village charm at Santa Gertrudis, a tiny hamlet
in the middle of the island famous for quaint little handicraft shops and galleries,
or head toward the 2,500-year-old D’Alt Vila which has man- aged to maintain
much of its medieval character despite the commercialisation the island has
seen. Th e fortress walls where people have been living for thou- sands of years still
houses about 700 people. Lovers of art can spend their day at Galeria Van der
Voort, one of the region’s best art galleries looking at paintings and pictures from
some of the best local and international artists. Whoever said ‘you’re going
to Ibiza, ‘cause you’re only gonna party’ was only telling half the story.
