The Australian crew of Nathan Outterridge and Iain Jensen won the gold in the Olympic men's 49er sailing class by a convincing margin on Wednesday.
Outterridge and Jensen finished fourth in the medal race to end their Olympic performance on a high after having already secured the gold medal following a strong showing in the first 15 races that included five wins.
The silver medal went to New Zealand's Peter Burling and Blair Tuke, who also took second place in the medal race, while bronze went to the Danish pair of Allan Norregaard and Peter Lang.
The Danish crew also finished third in the medal race, where their performance was good enough to stop Austria's hard-charging Nico Delle Karth and Nikolaus Resch from claiming the bronze medal after their medal race win.
