Your special report The plane in my backyard was an eye-opener. It is shocking to observe India’s ignorance on what’s happening in its neighbourhood. We cannot afford to take the LTTE in a light manner. We have already sacrificed a promising leader in Rajiv Gandhi to the LTTE. If India still thinks that it can afford to have such a callous attitude towards the dangers that the LTTE poses to India’s security, it’s high time we pull up our socks. The incident not only shows the Sri Lankan Army’s lack of preparedness but also highlights the Indian Navy’s vagueness and lack of intelligence.
