Executive Precision The assassinations of the presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy are linked by an incredible series of coincidences. Lincoln was elected as president in 1860 and Kennedy was elected exactly 100 years later. Both were succeeded by Southerners with the last name Johnson. Andrew Johnson was born in 1808 and Lyndon Johnson was born in 1908. Booth, the man who assassinated Lincoln was born in 1839, while Lee Oswald, Kennedy’s killer, was born in 1939. Both were themselves shot before they could be put on trial. Lincoln and Kennedy were both shot on a Friday, in the back of their heads when their wives were with them. And the most chilling happenstance… Lincoln was shot in Ford’s Theatre, while Kennedy was shot in a car made by Ford Motor Company called… The Lincoln!
