Exclusive Video: Khap 'strips' couple

Yet again, Rajasthan witnessed the wickedness of Khap Panchayat when it asked a woman and her alleged lover to ‘strip’ in front of all the villagers.

The incident occurred in the Godli village of Udaypur, Rajasthan. The Khap Panchayat was told that 25-years-old Manoj had illicit relations with a 35-year-old woman (name withheld) who is said to be Manoj's distant relative.



After the information of their alleged relation, the Khap Panchayat asked the woman's elder daughter to ‘strip her mother naked’. The panchayat members even cut her hair while Manoj was forced to wear a petticoat and walk around the village.

The villagers were told to record an MMS of the incident even, sources said.

Sources revealed that police was also present at the spot by the time the incident took place, but they were asked not to interfere by the Khap Panchayat, saying that it was a personal issue. Ironically, without caring much about the incident, police left the place, sources said.

Soon the trouble broke out as the MMS went viral in the city. It was only after the MMS incident that police ordered a probe into the incident. Inspector Parvat Singh of Dabok police station informed media that 18 persons have been arrested and presented before the court so far.
