Entrance scam: Police look out for mastermind

The crime branch of Delhi police is on a look out for the mastermind of recently busted high-tech entrance paper leak racket in which two MBA professionals along with a computer engineer and a medical student were arrested.

Earlier as per the disclosures made by the accused, the sleuths of the crime branch believed that Mohit Chaudhary was the kingpin of the racket. However, during sustained interrogation of the arrested, police came to know that Mohit was simply a conduit.

The racket was operating into the Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for filling 50 per cent of the post graduate seats in the Government colleges all over India.

With this revelation, police suspects that the racket could be wide spread and more candidates could have been beneficiaries of this unfair practice.

Although sources denied naming the mastermind as this could hamper the investigations, that said they police is hopeful of nabbing the culprit soon.

Police had arrested five persons, Kapil Kumar, Krishan Pratap, Mohit Chodhary, Dr Amit Punia and Bhisham Singh in connection with the case. While Krishan and Kapil are MBA professionals, Mohit is a MBBS student, Dr Amit Punia is a candidate who would appear in the examination, Bhisham is a computer professional.

In all 70,000 candidates appeared in the entrance test to fill 156 vacancies. Although police has arrested Dr. Amit Punia, a MBBS doctor from PGI Rohtak, crime branch sources are hopeful of tracking down other doctors seeking admission through unfair means after the mastermind’s arrest.
