Drop Out! A dimwit pseudo slick flick is what defines “Cop Out”. Completely ruining the Bruce Willis effect for all of us in this not-so-charismatic role, Jimmy (Bruce Willis) comes across as a stoic and inexperienced cop, who ideally should have been the veteran cop buddying-up with his veteran pal Paul (Tracy Morgan). Suspended without salary, Jimmy is in a soup as his plan to get his daughter married seems like a farfetched dream. In order to raise some funds he plans to sell his rare, mint-condition Andy Pafko baseball card, which, by the way has now been stolen. With almost everything falling apart and things going wrong all the way, Jimmy and his buddy Paul decide to bow down in front of a Latino drug dealer (who’s in possession of the card) and agree to find his stolen car. To make matters worse, it’s harder to focus on the case with Paul’s constant belly aching and jealousy towards his adorably cute wife’s alleged affairs. With weird unwanted twists and Tracy Morgan’s unexpected sad performance as the funny one, the movie seems more like a drag. The screen presence of one and all is indeed without fizz and freshness; completely making it unacceptable as a comedy, action or thriller!
