A Delhi policeman has set a new World record by making a greeting card in just 45 seconds.

PP Shamlan, an assistant Sub-inspector of Delhi police set the world record by making 80 greeting cards in just 60 minutes with almost computer precision. This record has been listed in the Limca Book of World Record.

Shamlan, who hails from South India, is a class X passout and had joined Delhi Police in 1980 as constable. He is posted as assistant sub-inspector with the communication wing of the Delhi police.

Shamlan says that he always wished to write with precision and did not take any training. For police, he is a proud possession as almost all senior police officers make use of his writing skills and get customized greeting cards made from him.

He says that whenever he finds time he makes greeting cards. During New Year, Christmas and festivals like Diwali, he sells these greeting cards. He does not keep the money generated through the sales of greeting cards with him. Rather he donates this money to an orphanage in Kashmiri Gate area.

Shamlan has decided to better his own world record. He has been working hard on it. He has set a target of writing 180 cards in one hour, which means one card in just 20 seconds. He looks quite confident of breaking his own record.
