Deathly pallor or glow? St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic cemetery in Leytonstone, London, has been home to paranormal paraphernalia. Around the year 1960, a gravestone in the shape of Christ’s cross glowed pale green each night. The sight soon became a tourist attraction of sorts as many started camping out to witness the event! The site was believed to be where the victims of Jack the Ripper were buried, and the grave, where his final victim fell. The pale green light was considered a signal of the dead calling for justice! Police got scientists to check for phosphorus material on the gravestone or even the possibility of some varnish that was making it shine such. Attempts failed, but the growing crowd led the police to remove the stone altogether for ‘tests’. Guess going green wasn’t a good option for the gravestone.
