Dangerously placed secrets...

 

 

Kuldhip Nayar’s write-up (TSI January 7, 2008) has highlighted how nuclear arsenals and related secrets are dangerously placed in the hands of the Pakistani Military Regime headed by General Musharraf. Secrets are flowing to Libiya and North Korea. But when the question of parting the secrets to Al-Qaeda came to the fore recently, the US readily came to Pakistan's rescue; certifying that the nuclear arsenals and secrets are well protected by Pakistan. The irony is that the US itself lacks credentials in this regard. Recently, US nationals had their worst nightmare when they found that in a military exercise, a US bomber was loaded with six nuclear missiles. The shocking revelation from a top military official said that the aircraft was ‘mistakenly’ loaded with the cruise missiles carrying nuclear warheads. I would say the complete elimination and total disarmament is the only solution.
