Congress and BSP in league on corruption: Naqvi

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi talks on the issue of corruption, NHRM scam ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

He talks to The Sunday Indian's Avinash Chandra Mishra on these issues.

Q: What is your strategy for UP polls?. How much you expect to gain by raising the issue of corruption?.

A: We are forcefully raising the issue of corruption in UP. BSP, SP and Congress are not even talking about these issues because they themselves are involved in so much of corruption. So we hope to gain a lot from this. The CBI terming the murder of Dr Sachan as suicide is a deal between BSP and Congress. And through this deal the Centre wanted to give a clean chit to Mayawati.

Q: How much Muslim vote BJP expects to gain and why?

A: In UP Muslims are feeling divided between religion-caste nexus. They have been exploited much through caste and religion.

Q: How many tickets you are giving to youth, women and minorities?

A: We have considered all section of the society in our ticket distribution process.

Q: Who will be your star campaigners in UP?

A: Our star campaigners will include LK Advani, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uma Bharti among others.

Q:When will BJP issue its last list of candidates?

A: I think in 3-4 days we will come out with the last list. Secondly, we will not induct any tainted leader in our party.

Q: What would be your election slogan this time?

A: Corruption free, development oriented and fearless Uttar Pradesh.
