Cong hints at understanding between BSP, BJP

After Rahul Gandhi's padyatra, Congress on Monday sharpened its attack on the ruling BSP hinting at an informal understanding between it and the BJP in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

BJP and BSP are "speaking the same language" on issues like law and order, corruption and land acquisition in the state, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters adding that the "friendship and ties" between them was on for long.

Alleging that the two parties do not want their alliance to be known publicly, he said that was why they were working in "cloak and dagger" manner. People in the country and Uttar Pradesh are well aware of the "unholy alliance", he said adding that the BSP and the UP Chief Minister were "running scared" due to the "upsurge" of support to Gandhi.

When told that the Congress-led coalition at the Centre was dependent on the BSP support, he said that at no point of time the Congress has hesitated to vigorously raise various issues of public interest.
