The company has registered 60 pc growth in the first six months of 2012, and out of its total marketing budget of Rs.142 crore, it plans to spend nearly Rs.40 crore to ensure the much required brand recall during the season.
Slashing the prices of as much as 11 models including 5 from its PowerShot series, 4 from IXUS series and 2 in PowerShot SX series for a competitive advantage, the company has announced to double up its retail outlets in India, and open up direct company outlets and work along with the distributors with a youth centric approach and a strong product line up.

Adding further to its recent “What makes us Click” campaign, the company had rolled out a new campaign with Bollywood Diva Anushka Sharma for their extended marketing initiatives during Onam festival. Talking exclusively to TSI, Seji Hamanishi, Assistant Director, Canon India, said, “We will be shortly coming up with a new TVC campaign specially designed for the festival season for an increased brand reach among both compact camera and DSLR segment. The youth in India is energetic and we don't want to miss out on the potential”.

The company already has a wider brand approach with 73 Canon Image Squares in India and is targeting to touch 100 store mark by the end of 2012.
