Bosusco, Hikaka to be produced before praja court? If sources are to be believed Maoists have decided to produce abducted Biju Janta Dal (BJD) legislator Jhinna Hikaka and Italian Paolo Bosusco before praja court (People's Court) on Sunday April 8 likely to be organized in the dense forest of Narayana Patana of Koraput district.

The same thing was done in the case of then abducted Malkangiri collector Vinil Krishna before he was released.

The two kidnapped men are in Maoists custody for the last three weeks.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik on Thursday announced the name of 27 persons, including several hardcore Maoists who would be release from jail within few days.

CM took the initiative as per the demand of Maoists.

Maoists' praja court has been a regular phenomenon where people are paraded before the tribals and handed immediate sentences.

The Maoists' court is more similar with village panchayat. The only difference is that Maoist take the law into their own hand while the village panchyat only fine the so-called offenders.

Many a time Maoist brutally murder the person in front of thousands of people whom they feel have committed a crime.

There are numerous examples when the Moist openly killed people assuming them as police informer or those who defy their orders.

During the last 10 years, more than 20 people were convicted and death sentence issued against them in Malkangiri district only.

In 2002, Maoist killed a contractor and BJP leader Tapan Kar in Rajgiri forest according to the ruling of Praja court.

In 2008 advocate Prabira Mohanty also met the same fate in in Laxmipur forest. In 2009, on the eve of general election, they also brutally killed Somanatha Madakami, an assembly election contestant from Samrudha, holding him guilty on flimsy charges.
It has been noticed that most of the victims who have been killed through praja court by Maoists were accused of being police informers.

Last year Maoists forced Vinil Krishna to promise some welfare scheme for the tribals. So this time they may ask Hikaka,a tribal legislator from Laxmipur, to serve tribal areas.
