Bio hotspots

 

 

According to researchers, about 50 per cent of plant and over 70 per cent of vertebrate species in the world are crammed into biodiversity ‘hotspots’. These areas make up only 2.3 per cent of Earth’s land surface. One of these hotspots is Madagascar and its government is planning to triple the amount of the protected land so that the plants and animals there can live without human interference.
