Because it's there...

Because it’s there. That’s what English mountaineer George Mallory is believed to have famously replied when asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest. And that’s just what we’d offer to anyone puzzling at the sight of another travel and lifestyle publication.

Because it’s there…  beauty in nature, in cultures, in art and architecture, in classic engineering and design and in the human experience, all of which can’t ever be written enough about. This supplement attempts to unite the human spirit’s desire to wander, to travel to lands and islands in search of sensual adventures, with man’s limitless quest for all things bright and beautiful.

Much of life is about travel. The pollen caught in the bee’s legs looking to flower afar, the message in a bottle on that deserted stretch of the beach, that strange awareness of a distant dear one’s unhappiness… But even if those were too much to appreciate, it wouldn’t be as hard to imagine the bliss of a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage, the 10 pm sunsets at the West Sands beach in St Andrews, the tranquil proximity with the Chambal at Bhainsrorgarh, or the self-actualised content  of owning a green diamond.

Turn the pages of our first edition of Gypsies and Billionaires to find all these and more, for we are here to inspire a desire to experience and acquire the very best that the high life has to offer. Even as we set about gathering more vignettes and tales of the good life from around us and the world for  our readers, I leave you with some all too familiar Lewis Carroll text, if only to remind ourselves of what it is to travel and dream.
