Baseless Objection

 

 

Raj Thackeray lashed out at Amitabh, saying that while living and working in Mumbai, he favours UP over Maharashtra; for setting up a school in Barabanki (UP). If that is so, why are NRI’s called for economic development in India? They don’t live in India. Raj Thackeray’s objection is baseless. It is more of a political gimmick – to win votes of the people of a particular state by playing with their feelings. Such people should be debarred from contesting elections by having suitable amendments in all States’ code of conduct or some Legislation that can be framed by Central government and made applicable throughout India. Further, no state belongs to a particular community or caste. All Indians have the right to settle and live anywhere. A person born or brought up in one State but living in another for his livelihood will still have a natural urge to remain attached to it. What is wrong with that?
