Applause Impossible! “Pyaar Impossible” is a limp tale of a geek Abhay Sharma (Uday Chopra) who drools over Alisha (Priyanka Chopra), the hottie of Ankert University in California. Alisha doesn’t even have an iota of a hint as to who Abhay is, even though he saves her life when she falls off a bridge. Seven years pass and geeky Abhay develops a mind-blowing software which he sets out to sell in the market and gets robbed instead by a smooth talker called Sidhu (Dino Morea). A dejected Abhay is then inspired by his dad (Anupam Kher) and he once again sets out to find Sidhu in Singapore where apparently he is about to strike a deal for the software.

As can be guessed in this mundane story, Alisha (now a divorced single mother) happens to be the PR and Marketing Head of the firm in question. Abhay, who still nurtures his secret flame for Alisha is now distracted and rather than focusing on the software and he accepts a job as a nanny for her daughter. How the story unfolds is conveniently predictable and boring, leaving a couple of comedy sequences aside. Uday had an endearing role but made the mistake of writing the screenplay himself and weaving a poor story. Priyanka looks stunning and is the only saving grace despite an ‘impossible’ role. Anupam Kher does well as always; this time as a geeky father.

But the fairy tale setting and narrative style fizzles out fast as there are no lasting moments behind the slick and stylised facade of all gloss and no acting. The music is here to stay but success under the Yash Raj banner may be impossible for sought after Priyanka with Jugal Hansraj and Uday Chopra experimenting all the way!
