The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday said a survey conducted by it has found several anomalies in micro hydel projects built by the Army in the state.
"The state government was supposed to take over the MHPs from the Army but detected certain loopholes in a survey," JK minister for Science and Technology Aga Syed Ruhullah said.
Of the 524 MHPs, 388 projects were found non-functional and 37 non-existent. Only 99 are functional, he said. The minister said the matter will be reported to the implementing agency (Army).
"We will raise the issue with the Army, who had commissioned these projects," he said.
An amount of Rs 3.68 crore have been released under Border Area Development Program and Rs 8.7 crore has been given by the central government to the Army for completion of these projects.
