Anna Hazare began, on Tuesday, his promised indefinite fast to press for the Jan Lokpal Bill, at the Yadavbaba temple in his village Ralegaon Siddhi. Before he sat on the fast, he said he would not be taken in by any false promises, and that if the government would try to break his fast forcibly, he would give up even water. Arvind Kejriwal is not welcome at the fast, even though Anna congratulated the AAP on its win. The party on its part has told members that they cannot offer support to the fast under the party banner, given Anna’s recent letter of objections. Though there is no doubting Anna’s intent, without the team which rallied public support for the fast the last time, it remains to be seen what measure of success it shall achieve this time. The grand old anti-corruption crusader appears to be missing the limelight and has said that had he been around, kejriwal would have been Delhi CM.
