An old fossil

 

 

A group of fossil-hunting scientists discovered a treasure trove in a slab of amber! The gold-coloured rock had tiny plants and insects trapped inside.

These fossilised plants and animals provided the best evidence that rainforests existed in the western part of the Amazon basin as long as 15 million years ago
