Abdullah sees off Haj pilgrims

The first batch of Haj pilgrims, the Aazmeen-e-Haj, in Srinagar this year were sent off in fitting fashion to the holiest of pilgrimages in the Islamic world on Tuesday morning, under the personal supervision of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah from the .

Accompanied by Minister of State for Haj and Auqaf, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, the Chief Minister interacted with Haj pilgrims, inquired into the status of arrangements made for their stay and movement from the Bemina Haj House, and warmly sent them off.

Wishing them good health and success in their endeavour to complete the Manasik-i-Haj, and safe return to their homes, the Chief Minister asked them to pray for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state and the country.

Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Mr. Kachoo Isfandyar Khan, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Abdul Majid Mir, Director Information, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, Director Technical Airport, Mr. Raj K. Malik, Member Muslim Auqaf Trust, Maulana Akhzar Hussain, Hajj Officer, Dr. Abdul Salam and officers of civil and police were present at the occasion.
