A tribute to our heroes

 

 

The cover story "Wounded for life" (TSI, August 17-23) was a fitting tribute to all the soldiers and their families on the eve of country's 62nd Independence Day. It is indeed a national shame that widows and the families of Indian soldiers, who were killed during various operations, are suffering because of administrative negligence. Such soldiers often end up in a mere war memorial and their families keep on waiting for justice with a distant hope. Thousands of crores of rupees are allocated for defence and security in every budget but very little is used. Let's salute the valour and sacrifice demonstrated by these soldiers and their families for the cause of the nation. Congratulations to TSI for drawing attention to an issue that requires immediate humanitarian intervention.
