A ruthless communist machine

 

 

Prof. Arindham Chaudhuri in his editorial has correctly pointed out that the Beijing Olympics is not about liberty. In fact the Games are similiar to the Berlin Olympics when Hitler was at his racist worst in Germany. China has used these Games to highlight itself to the world as an emerging superpower who can challenge the US. Human rights have been trampled upon to make the Games a success. Communist ideals have been thrown out of the window to hold a grandiose opening ceremony. There are many innocent people languishing in jails under very inhuman conditions only because they raised a voice against the highly disciplined but ruthless Communist Machine.
